Memorial Stadium

This was one of the first things I looked at when deciding to research the Harrison Square project. I feel as though the city of Fort Wayne showed a lack of foresight in what to do with the previous stadium. Memorial Stadium was built in 1993 and is still a fairly new stadium. Memorial Stadium's cost was a mere 6 million, and has long been paid for. The city of Fort Wayne has talked with a few potential buyers in hopes of selling Memorial Stadium, but, have yet to secure a buyer. There has also been talk of destruction to the stadium, which would be a shame since it is still a very up to date stadium.

Unless there is someone will to maintain the park and provide events there, it might as well be torn down. I'd hate to see it though. I'd love to see someone try to get a National Pro Fastpitch team and/or a Vintage Baseball League team. It would be good alternative when the Wizards are out of town and could succeed if done right.
